This eyelid surgery creates a double eyelid crease with the non-incisional buried-suture method, so no incision is needed. Swelling is relatively mild, so it's easy to fit into a short trip.

This is a natural adhesion double eyelid event that creates a double eyelid crease with sutures, no incision needed. Because it's a non-incisional (buried suture) method that secures the skin to the conjunctiva with sutures, it looks less "done" and barely disrupts your daily life. It suits anyone who wants a natural-looking crease or needs to fit the procedure into a short trip to Korea.

Who It's For

  • Those with no crease or a faint one who want a clear, defined line
  • Those who want a natural, subtle crease, like an inner double eyelid (a low crease that sits close to the lash line)
  • Those who find incisional surgery daunting and want less swelling and a shorter recovery
  • Those on a short trip to Korea who want to move quickly from consultation to surgery
  • Those with uneven or asymmetric creases who want their eyes assessed first

How It's Done

  1. Consultation and eye assessmentThe eyes are a complex, delicate area, so the same technique can produce different results. That's why the eyelid skin thickness, eye-opening strength and left-right balance are checked before double eyelid surgery. Bring several photos of the double eyelids you like to your consultation, and skip circle lenses and heavy eye makeup.
  2. Crease designThe height and shape of the crease are chosen to suit your facial features. In the video case, the crease was set low, including even small folds, for a look close to an inner double eyelid.
  3. Choosing the methodEyelids with a lot of folds and excess skin may, in principle, need an incision, so the consultation determines whether the buried suture method is right for you. If your schedule calls for a quick recovery, that's factored into the choice.
  4. Anesthesia and surgeryEye surgery is performed under sedation. The skin is secured to the conjunctiva with sutures, gently linking the eye-opening muscle and the skin to form the crease. In the video case, the patient was woken briefly just before the end of surgery to check how the eyes opened and how the crease looked before finishing up.

Doctor and Clinic

Board-certified plastic surgeon and head director Dr. Lim Ji-hong personally handles both consultation and surgery. A Japanese interpreter is on staff and accompanies you from consultation through surgery day; for other languages, please ask when booking. The clinic runs real-time anesthesia monitoring during surgery, emergency equipment, sterile facilities and an infection and contamination control system, and the operating room has CCTV. It's located on Gangnam-daero in Seocho-gu, close to Gangnam Station.

Side Effects and Precautions

  • Bleeding, infection or inflammation can occur after surgery, so follow the clinic's precautions.
  • Swelling and bruising are common and gradually subside during recovery.
  • The buried suture method may not suit eyelids with thick skin or many folds, so the consultation determines whether an incisional method is needed.
  • The double eyelid crease is affected by eye-opening strength and eyelid condition, so if your eye-opening strength is weak, whether to add ptosis correction is decided during the consultation.
  • If the crease feels uneven or you're unhappy with it after surgery, revision eye surgery starts by analyzing the cause to decide on the approach.

FAQ

Does natural adhesion double eyelid surgery involve an incision?

No. It's a non-incisional buried suture method that secures the skin to the conjunctiva with sutures.

Will the crease come undone?

The clinic offers a double buried suture method to reduce the risk of it coming undone. The right method for your eyes is decided during the consultation.

Will double eyelid surgery alone make my eyes look bigger?

If you feel a double eyelid alone isn't enough, you can also consult about ptosis correction or canthoplasty. If your eye-opening strength is weak, the clinic first checks whether ptosis correction is needed.

What language is the consultation in?

A Japanese interpreter is on staff; for other languages, please ask in advance when booking.
