This is a first-time rhinoplasty event where a board-certified plastic surgeon and a board-certified ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist assess both the shape of your nose and how well you breathe. It's not just about raising the bridge. The angles running from between the brows down the bridge, to the tip and to the lips, along with your front and side balance, are designed to match your whole face. The right material, an implant or your own tissue, is chosen based on the condition of your nose.
Who it's for
- First-timers who want a natural nose that suits their facial proportions, rather than one that obviously looks "done"
- Anyone with a low or uneven bridge who also wants to refine a tip that looks wide or droopy
- Anyone wary of using only an implant who wants to discuss autologous tissue, such as their own cartilage or dermis
- Anyone with nasal congestion, rhinitis or a deviated septum who wants breathing issues checked alongside the shape
How it works
- Consultation and nasal assessmentBesides the shape of your nose, the team checks for congestion, rhinitis and any past injuries. A joint consultation with the ENT specialist looks at whether there are any breathing-function problems.
- Line designThe angles from between the brows to the bridge, tip and lips, plus front and side balance, are reviewed to choose a line that suits you. A straight nose gives a crisp, clean look. A banbeoseon nose (a gently upturned, softly curved profile) gives a soft, natural look. A "straight-banbeoseon" nose sits somewhere in between.
- Material selectionFor the bridge, an implant such as silicone or your own dermis or cartilage can be used. For the tip, autologous cartilage from the septum, ear or rib is mainly used. The choice depends on skin thickness, the height needed and how much tip support is required. In some cases, an implant-free approach is possible.
- Pre-op testsBlood tests, an ECG and similar checks confirm you're fit for anesthesia, and the appropriate anesthesia method is decided.
- SurgeryA board-certified anesthesiologist handles your anesthesia one-on-one, and the specialist who consulted with you performs the surgery. The incision is either a closed approach through the inside of the nose or an open approach that leaves a scar line on the columella. The approach is chosen based on your nasal condition and goals.
- Follow-up checksYour progress is monitored through recovery, with aftercare to help prevent problems like inflammation.
What's included
- 1 rhinoplasty surgery
- Joint ENT consultation
Prices include VAT and apply during the clinic's event period. Additional costs may apply depending on materials used beyond the items above (cartilage harvesting, implants, etc.) and the scope of surgery. These are confirmed during your consultation.
From surgery day to recovery
- Before your tripYou can reach out first via online consultation or KakaoTalk consultation. If you need your surgery date to fit around your departure, let the clinic know when you book.
- Surgery daySurgery follows your consultation and tests. The anesthesiologist monitors you from the start of surgery through recovery.
- Weeks 1–2Major swelling and bruising gradually subside. When stitches and splints come off depends on the surgical method and will be explained during your consultation.
- Several monthsResidual swelling in the tip can linger for a long time depending on skin thickness and cartilage support. It takes several months for the line to settle.
Aftercare
- Your progress is checked through recovery, with hygienic aftercare to help prevent issues like inflammation.
- If you also have nasal function issues, they're reviewed together through the joint ENT consultation.
Doctors and clinic
Dr. Hong Yong-taek, a board-certified plastic surgeon, works jointly with Dr. Go Guk-jin, a board-certified ENT specialist and the head director, and a board-certified anesthesiologist is on site. The specialist you consult with before surgery performs the operation personally. The operating rooms have CCTV and are private, with one operating table per room. Emergency equipment such as a defibrillator is also on hand. The clinic is in Seocho-gu, within walking distance of Gangnam Station Exit 10 and Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 7. If you need an interpreter, ask about language availability when you book.
Side effects and precautions
- Bleeding, infection and inflammation can occur after surgery, so follow the clinic's care instructions.
- Swelling and bruising are common and subside over 1–2 weeks, but residual swelling in the tip can last longer.
- An implant can look unnatural if its height, thickness, position or connection to the tip isn't right. That's why the height is designed around your skin thickness and tip angle.
- Using rib or ear cartilage can cause pain or scarring at the harvest site.
- If you've had nose surgery before, the method and materials will vary depending on implant position, cartilage condition, scar tissue and any inflammation. Bringing your records and photos helps.
FAQ
Do I have to do the bridge and tip together?
No. If your bridge height is fine but the tip looks wide or droopy, the focus can be on the tip. If your bridge is low or uneven and your tip also lacks support, both are planned together.
Won't an implant look unnatural?
It's less about the implant itself and more about when the height, thickness, position or connection to the tip doesn't fit. The height is designed with your skin thickness, where your bridge starts and your tip angle in mind.
Can it be done without an implant?
In some cases, yes, using your own dermis or cartilage. Depending on the height needed and your skin condition, though, an implant may be the better fit. This is decided during your consultation.
Can nasal congestion be fixed at the same time?
If you have functional issues such as a deviated septum, rhinitis or nasal valve stenosis, they're assessed through the joint ENT consultation. Cosmetic bridge and tip work can be considered together with functional nose surgery.
What languages are consultations available in?
If you need an interpreter, ask about language availability when you book.
