First-Time Eye Surgery 3-Piece Set

This eye surgery package combines natural adhesion (non-incisional) double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, and canthoplasty (eye-corner widening). The combination is tailored to your eye shape and what it needs.

This eye surgery set combines natural-adhesion double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction (eye-opening correction) and epicanthoplasty (eye-corner extension). If a double eyelid line alone doesn't seem like enough, you can get a single consultation covering eye-opening strength and the horizontal length of your eyes. The combination is tailored to your eye shape after an assessment.

Who it's for

  • Those with small, sleepy-looking eyes who want a clearer, brighter look
  • Those who feel double eyelid surgery alone won't give enough eye size or definition
  • Those with weak eye-opening strength who tense their forehead to open their eyes
  • Those whose inner eye corners look closed off because of epicanthal folds
  • Those who'd rather plan several eye procedures together instead of having them separately

How it works

  1. Consultation and eye assessmentThe clinic checks the thickness and fat volume of your eyelid skin, eye-opening strength, horizontal eye length and left-right balance, then decides which combination of the three procedures you need. Bring several photos of eyes you like to the consultation, and skip circle lenses and heavy eye makeup.
  2. Natural-adhesion double eyelidThe line is created with a non-incisional suture method that secures the skin to the conjunctiva with stitches. The line height is set to suit your overall facial look.
  3. Ptosis correctionThis procedure adjusts the muscles that open the eye to improve a sleepy look. Non-incisional ptosis correction uses sutures without cutting the skin, which reduces swelling and scarring and shortens recovery. It suits mild-to-moderate ptosis and thin eyelids. Whether you need incisional ptosis correction instead is assessed during the consultation.
  4. EpicanthoplastyEye-corner procedures include inner-corner (medial), outer-corner (lateral) and lower-lid extension. The method is chosen to fit your eye shape, and two or more can be combined if needed. Not every eye is a candidate, so suitability is checked first during the consultation.
  5. Anesthesia and surgeryEye surgery is performed under sedation. In the case shown in the video, the patient was woken briefly just before the end of surgery to check how the eyes opened and the degree of correction before finishing.

Surgeon and clinic

Board-certified plastic surgeon and head director Dr. Im Ji-hong performs the consultation and surgery personally. In videos on men's eye surgery, he has explained his approach of combining ptosis correction to strengthen eye opening with inner- and outer-corner extension to lengthen the eyes, tailored to each eye shape. A Japanese interpreter is on-site and accompanies you from consultation through surgery day; for other languages, please ask when booking. The clinic runs real-time anesthesia monitoring during surgery, emergency equipment, sterile facilities and infection/contamination control systems, and the operating room has CCTV. It's located on Gangnam-daero in Seocho-gu, close to Gangnam Station.

Side effects and precautions

  • Bleeding, infection or inflammation can occur after surgery, so follow the clinic's instructions.
  • Swelling and bruising are common and gradually subside during recovery.
  • Since several procedures are done together, the recovery schedule varies by combination. Confirm your travel dates during the consultation and leave plenty of buffer time.
  • Corner extension isn't suitable for every eye, and a different approach may be needed depending on your eyes.
  • For thick eyelids, eyes needing fat removal or severe ptosis, an incisional method may be required for ptosis correction.
  • If you're unhappy with your eye shape after surgery, revision eye surgery analyzes the cause to decide on a solution.

FAQ

Do I have to get all three?

The combination is tailored after assessing your eye shape. If your eyes are already long enough horizontally or your eye-opening strength is good, you may not need that procedure, which is decided during the consultation.

Can ptosis correction come undone?

For non-incisional ptosis correction, the clinic uses a method that secures the knots firmly to reduce the risk of loosening. The right method for your eyes is decided during the consultation.

What types of corner extension are there?

There's inner-corner, outer-corner and lower-lid extension, and they can be done at the same time as double eyelid surgery. The method that fits your eye shape is decided during the consultation.

What language is the consultation in?

A Japanese interpreter is on-site. For other languages, please ask in advance when booking.
