In Korea, as soon as it gets hot, people suddenly start talking about naengmyeon.

Not so much in winter. But from around late May, the number of people eating naengmyeon suddenly increases. A cold broth, with thin noodles. Honestly, at first I thought, “Is this really enough?” But before I knew it, I had finished the whole bowl. Pyongyang naengmyeon is light and refreshing. Hamheung naengmyeon is on the spicier side. Even though they’re both naengmyeon, they’re quite different. Before summer arrives in Korea, it’s naengmyeon season at least once 🐷
